The Carnival Parade marks the climax of the Carnival weekend. Walking through the packed streets of Christchurch and interacting with the crowds is such an amazing experience.
It’s also a fabulous way to showcase any club, group or cause that’s close to your heart.
This year’s Parade will take place on Sunday 16th August 2026.
To join the parade simply complete the registration form below and tell us a bit about your entry and its theme. We can’t wait to hear from you and will be in touch after you register.
Please note that on-the-day entry into the parade is not possible.
Carnival Parade Rules
- The organisers’ and judges’ decisions are final.
- No water, flour or other items may be thrown from the floats.
- Only official collecting buckets may be used.
- No attempt must be made to entice people to approach moving floats for the purpose of collecting money.
- All collection buckets should be handed to the officials at the end of the parade.
- Trophies must be returned to the committee at least 1 month before the next carnival.
- For the safety of all, please ensure that nobody leaves or joins a moving float.
- The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to the carnival parade.
- The organisers are not liable for any accidents, injuries or damage caused to people and/or equipment in the carnival parade. All participants are reminded of the need to have their own adequate insurance.
- All vehicles must be roadworthy, with valid MOT, insurance and road tax.
